Damian personified a good heart, warm smile and considerate nature. So like many others, I considered him a friend as well as the greatest Nurse I’ve ever had the fortune to meet. He always made sure he had time to add a personal connection to his hard work and professionalism.
I first met Damian in his professional capacity working at Salisbury Spinal Hospital, where he was highly regarded by all patients and colleagues for his vast knowledge and experience. But like many others, I soon connected to him personally, as we shared a similar love for music.
Then over the years as Damian moved to the outpatients department and then the SIA, my respect and affinity for him as a person grew. We continued to share our opinions and experiences every time we conversed and connected. I always looked forward to hearing which band we had a connection to in our past, he had been to see live, or been listening to recently, and he would always leave me with a list of new music to look up.
These are the things I will miss most about lovely Damian.
Although his professional knowledge was vast and well considered, and will be a great loss to everyone. Damian’s personality, friendship, and empathy is what makes his sudden absence, so painful.
Thank you Damian for everything and for you.
My thoughts are with you, your wife and children, I hope they are well.
